In our new 'Transfer Time' segment over the European transfer window, we bring you all the goss you need from around the European Leagues! We start today with a look at the English Premier League including the possible return of Cristiano Ronaldo!

So with what appears to be a MASSIVE transfer window around the world, we kick off our coverage of all footballs transfer goss with a look at the English Premier League.

Scroll down to check out some of the big current rumours coming out of England!

Our Pick

Cole seeks fresh challenge

Joe Cole endured a disaster first season at Liverpool, starting okay with Roy Hodgson and then barely getting a game under Kenny Dalglish. The midfielder might still have a bit to offer and with the mountains of experience he has, the likes of QPR, Fulham and Tottenham have all been linked. His 3-4 million pound asking price probably rules out the likes of QPR, with Tottenham rumoured to be in pole position to land the England international.

Will Samir Stay? Pressure mounts on Gunners

Say What?!

Nasri eyes Arsenal exit

The curious case of Samir Nasri continues to boil over, with reported interest now from Bayern Munich. There has also been a quiet word that Bastian Schweinsteiger might be involved in a swap for the French ace. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be interested

Ronaldo wants 400k per week at City

In an absolute cracker of a story, it is believed that Crisitiano Ronaldo is prepared to leave Real Madrid after continuous falling outs with Jose Mourinho and head to old rivals Manchester City. City is probably the only club in the world who could seriously afford his wages, but 400k a week? Come on CR7, no one is paying you over 20 million pounds a year just to play footy!

United look at Modric, Schneider

Manchester United is keeping tabs on Luka Modric and Wesley Schneider as they look to bring in a replacement for recently retired Paul Scholes. The midfield, in particularly central, lacks some depth and the addition of either would add some real class. However, Harry Redknapp has come out saying that his Croatian maestro is not going anywhere.

Which shade of red for Phil Jones?

The young defender has been suspect to huge interest of late and it appears as though Liverpool and Manchester United are the two remaining candidates. It was rumoured that Untied has locked in the defender up until Pool launched a late bid of over 25 million pounds as they look to rebuild their squad.

Rumoured News

Spurs and Liverpool interest in Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge enjoyed his best ever season in the Premier League last time round, showing some very promising signs at loan to Bolton and has hence received some interest from Spurs and Liverpool. It is believed Spurs is the more serious contender, with rumours they are looking to offload Defoe and Pavlyuchenko. However, Chelsea have strapped a 20 million price tag on his head, is he worth that much?

Where on earth is Gervinho going?

It appears no one has a clue where this Ivorian is going. Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool and Sunderland have all been linked with the forward and he has been quoted as saying that next season he will play in the EPL. However, it does seem he favours playing in the Champions League and there is only one club on that list that can offer it.

Cahill, Samba on Gunners target

No doubt Arsenal need to strengthen their defence this window and it appears Wenger might be favouring some experienced Premier League defenders in Gary Cahill and Chris Samba. Arsenal have a close relationship with Bolton and that might shave a few pounds of Cahill’s price tag, but one thinks he will still be around 10-15 million pounds. Samba might be a little bit cheaper, rumoured at a nine million fee.

Everton starlet Tottenham?

Jack Rodwell is drawing some heavy interest from Spurs right now as the youngster looks to play in Europe and get game time at a bigger club. Not sure, how much there is to this one though, he probably would spend most of his playing time off the bench at Tottenham.

Kewell and Neill to QPR?

The Aussie duo are both out of contract and have been told their Galatasaray contracts will not be renewed for next season. Newly promoted Premier League side Queens Park Rangers are said to be looking for some experience, the Australians certainly have that and still probably a few decent years left in them.

Ashley to leave Villa?

Ashley Young is apparently eying a move out of Aston Villa to win some trophies with Manchester United rumoured as potential suitors. But after losing the likes of Gareth Barry and James Milner in recent years, it appears Villa will be holding out for a massive fee if Young were to leave.

What Do You Think?

What are your thoughts on all these possible transfers? Which, if any do you think will materialize? Also, add any news you’ve heard in the comments section below and we’ll feature you in our next installation of Transfer Time!

Manchester Untied have continued their great festive form with a 2-1 victory at West Brom. Goals from Wayne Rooney, his first in open play for some nine months, and Javier Hernandez cancelled out a fine James Morrison effort. However, throw in a missed Odemwingie penalty and it was a lot closer than perceived. The win sees United stay top of the league with a game in hand over Arsenal and Manchester City.

Over at the Eastlands, the Citizens beat Blackpool 1-0. Missing Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez was the main man up front. But in what was a close game, the Argentinean struggled, missing a penalty and several guilt edge chances to put to finish the game as a contest. It was Andy Johnson’s shot from 20 yards that won it, his shot seemingly going unnoticed through the entire goal box and into the back of the net.

The Gunners meanwhile travelled to Birmingham City for a potentially tricky match. However, the Gunners turned on their style and became only the second team to win in 30 games at St. Andrew’s. After Robin Van Persie and the impressive Samir Nasri gave Arsenal a two-goal advantage, a Johnson own goal after some fantastic lead up work by Nasri and Fabregas sealed a much needed and deserved three points.

At Anfield, Liverpool finally had something to cheer about, defeating Bolton 2-1. However, things could have been a lot worse if not for Joe Cole’s injury time equaliser. Steve Gerrard was brilliant coming off the bench in the first half, with Fernando Torres breaking his six-match goal drought. The Reds getting the three points they so desperately needed in their continuing battle for European football.

Tottenham continued their battle for a Champions League spot with a tight 1-0 win over Fulham. Gareth Bale kept up his fantastic season, scoring the only goal with a looping header to have Mark Schwarzer stranded in goal.

Stoke welcomed Everton to the Britannia Stadium, with a Kenwyne Jones effort and a Jagielka own goal meaning Stoke took all three whilst leaving a struggling Everton just three points off the relegation zone.

In the other games, West Ham picked up a valuable 2-0 win over fellow relegation favourites Wolverhampton at Upton Park, whilst Sunderland were convincing 3-0 winners over Blackburn at the Stadium of Light.

Tomorrow, Chelsea take on Aston Villa whilst Newcastle visit Wigan.

There were plenty of bizarre scenes in the English Premier League today with an array of moments that might not be included in any player's highlights packages come end of the season.

The English Premier League was at its entertaining best on Saturday, but it was the bizarre action of it all that will make the papers tomorrow morning.

Here are the results from last night:

Arsenal 2 – 1 Birmingham
Man. United 2 – 2 West Brom.
Bolton 2 – 1 Stoke City
Newcastle 2 – 2 Wigan
Fulham 1 – 2 Tottenham
Wolves 1 – 1 West Ham
Aston Villa 0 – 0 Chelsea

Shocker... Van Der Sar ensures United drop more points.

We’ll start at Old Trafford where after first-half dominance from United, keeper Edward Van Der Sar came up with a Robert Green-Esque clanger to gift the Baggies a point. A deflected Chris Brunt cross went sky high and the Dutchman, under no pressure at all, dropped it straight in the path of Somen Tchoyi to equalize. Earlier, goals from Javier Hernandez and Nani gave United a 2-0 lead before half time.

Meanwhile, the Gunners came away with an important win at home to Birmingham. However, it will be Jack Wilshere’s horrible late challenge and Marouane Chamakh’s controversial ‘dive’ that will overshadow the result. Chamakh went to ground to earn a penalty for Arsenal which Samir Nasri put away, but there appeared to be little contact with the Morrocan. Then late on, Wilshere was sent off for the type of challenge Arsene Wenger has been asking referees to stamp out. Wenger was questioned about the tackle after the game and admitted the fault.

“It looked a red card. He mis-timed the tackle – he didn’t want to hurt the player – but he touched him, and it was a red card,” he said.

To Craven Cottage now where Mark Hughes was livid by Spurs’ winner in a tense game. Locked at one-all, Tom Huddlestone found the net from distance. However, William Gallas had made an offside run in the process and looked to deliberately toe-poke the ball in from Huddlestone’s shot. After consideration with the linesman referee Mike Dean allowed the goal.

We’ve left arguably the best till last though, with Ivan Klasnic of Bolton summing up the afternoon with a winning goal and two yellows within the space of three minutes. Bolton and Stoke were tied up deep into stoppage time. Enter Klasnic. With minutes remaining, he picked up the ball, swivelled and shot for a great goal. However, he then picked up two deserved yellow cards and was sent off.

In other news, Newcastle valiantly fought back from 2-0 down to steal a point from Wigan at St. James’ Park whilst Wolves and West Ham played out a not-so-classical one-all draw.

Whilst in the late game, Chelsea were dominant but could not stretch their lead by much over Arsenal and Manchester United at Aston Villa.
